|WoW #5| Vanishing Girls - Lauren Oliver

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My WoW for this week is Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver:

Summary:

New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver delivers a gripping story about two sisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.
Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.
In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other. [Harper Collins]

I really like other books by Lauren Oliver. I enjoyed reading Before I Fall and the Delirium Trilogy and I'm now very excited about new YA books by Lauren Oliver. Even though  Panic is still on my TBR-pile, I'm looking forward to Vanishing Grils, which will be published on March 1st 2015 by Harper Collins. And, by the way, I love the cover! It's so beautiful *_*

Have you already read a book by Lauren Oliver? And are you also looking forward to Vanishing Grils?

  1. Hi there Maura,
I've read "Before I fall" (like everyone else, it seems) and I think I remember I liked it. It's such a long time ago that I can't really recall anything from it but maybe that just calls for a re-read ;-)
"Vanishing Girls" sounds really good, I think I will put it on my wishlist. And you are right about the cover: it's really cool!

    Kind Regards

    1. I can't remember anything about "Before I fall", too. Except that I it was totally different to what I had expected... xD

  2. Unfortunately I'm not the biggest fan of Lauren Oliver. This is why I decided not to read "Panic". I also sorted out the last book of the delirium series. I don't care how it ends and the book is in my sub for over 2 years. But I will try it with "Wenn du stibst..." I heard it its one of her best books and I will give it a try.

    Greetings Tina

    1. That's sad :(
In my opinion the Delirium Trilogy is okay. The first book is great, the second is really bad, and the third is okay again..
I really hope you'll enjoy reading "Before I fall"! :D
